THE PEDAGOGY OF THE WORSHOP

The most important is to love to be playing on stage or in the street, to love meeting and playing with oneself, the partner(s) and the public. Thus is born the expression, for ex : < I am playing in a very nice theatre creation.>.Never loose the comical notion of those activities……we are not here to be in a bad mood!!!! or we have to play with this bad mood…. n`est-ce pas???????????????????? The rigour exists but, I think, the role of a teacher is not to use of a certain authority which will put him in a relation of force towards the others, but on the opposite, to use his energy, his no-judging, his patience, his observation sense, his presence and his techniques, to transmit his passion for this kind of activity.

"DEVELOPMENT OF A WORKSHOP SEANCE"

First part:
↔ An opening ritual = to pass from the daily reality to the workshop reality. = to greet partners and recognize them.
↔ A time of relaxation = to relax with breathing. = to empty oneself from outside tensions and parasite thoughts.
↔ A warm-up for the body = to awake physical energy = to be warm not to hurt oneself. = to soften muscles and keep them softened. = to get in the right physical to discover our possibilities.
↔ A warm-up for the voice = to warm up the vocal cords. = to be prepared to use different noise levels and to with our voice, words, sounds and intentions. = to articulate well.
↔ Work on the necessary and different basic techniques for scenic art = to manage the scenic space, to develop our trust and our listening to the other, the others…in duo, trio or more or all, developing with exercises our five senses, concentration, imagination, fantasy and memory to succeed during the improvisations.

Second part:
↔ Improvisations using techniques seen during the first part of the workshop.
↔ A closing ritual.

(To deepen www.meisoshiatsu.org)

MEISO SHIATSU can wake up consciousness in all people. The practice uses several techniques of pressure and several ways of treatment: harmonic treatments, energetic meridians, vital points, chakra, communicating bands with 5 elements, organs and their functions.

MEISO SHIATSU can harmonize inconsciousness part with the consciousness one, can regulate internal organs, and reactivate their functions; can favourish body and mind stability, enforcing potentialities of everyone; can harmonize strongness of will, possibility of nourishment, changement and showing of vitality.

The aim of MEISO SHIATSU is not only the use of techniques to eliminate possible symptoms and troubles, but, ever mantaining attention for the effectiveness of the treatment, to try to educate and to guide toward a personal engagement for the global turning to account of your and others life.

The story of Meiso Shiatsu began more than thirty years ago when the Master Yuji Yahiro begins to practice and spread his study in Italy and in Europe. Meiso Shiatsu is the evolution of his research in health and constitutes a significant tool for those who practice shiatsu and for those who make the study of harmony of body and heart of human art education. Meiso Shiatsu is not limited to only one solution and elimination of disturbances and physical and mental ailments but tries to understand the causes that generate them now also offer an avenue for self education. The principles of Meiso Shiatsu help develop personal quest of self healing through the awakening of the Life Force to establish a state of true health, happiness and peace.

Shiatsu is the practice that uses the pressure of fingers and hands in perpendicular, constant and focused combined with deep breath, abdominal strength and lumbar and positive image. Acts on the energy meridians, on the wings communicating on vital points and points of harmony affecting the nervous system, hormonal system and organs. Through the practice of Meiso Shiatsu you try to combine both the physical realm that the sphere of mood towards the well-being that can be manifested in daily life and the environment in which everyone lives.

To increase and improve our sensitivity we should reach a harmonious condition of the body (dozen), to broaden and deepen our way of thinking we need to create a harmonious condition in the heart (Bosatsu). These two paths, one directed from the outside and the other in the opposite direction, are in the ratio of resonance between them, and of course also influence the development of one another.

Oki-do Yoga

Oki-do yoga is a dynamic form of yoga, designed to create balance of resistance in body and mind. The Japanese master Masahiro Oki, acupuncture, oriental and western physician, Zen monk, yoga master and master of Japanese Martial Arts, has created this form of yoga, which is characterized by the diversity and originality in her path to harmony.

The Indians Yoga by Master Oki principles and supplemented with exercises from the martial arts: a centered and stable lower body and provides the basis for a smooth and relaxed upper body and a clear mind. This creates an independent mind and a stable Endurance. Oki-do yoga focuses on the practical daily life. Knowing how to live, you adapt to life in harmony in any situation, in general. The training path of Yoga is annual and is based on the learning of simple forms of movement and meditation using the breath.
The program provides basic training staff of the four fundamental characteristics:

• awareness
• breathing
• movement
• positive image

-applied to various exercises in the four directions of the basic process of life:

• purification
• strengthening
• the corrective /tion
• the incorporation

In the YOGA there is not a book to study, but what comes by your experience.
OKI DO YOGA teaches that you can deepen your study, free and develop yourself, only with your direct care.

Masahiro Oki

Idiosyncratic teacher-healer-philosopher and originator of a very individual system of yoga. Oki was born in Korea in 1919 and brought up in a strictly religious environment. His early education familiarized him with martial arts and Zen. He was influenced by the politician Ottama Daisojo, who played an important part in the history of Burma (now Myanmar). Oki asked him about such great individuals as Buddha, Christ, and Muhammed, and their spiritual eminence. He explained that all three practiced something called yoga, which he would understand through later experience. At the time, Oki was only eight years old. When his father died, to support his family, he joined the government intelligence service. In order to train for this work he studied foreign languages and was given special training in Western and Eastern medicine.

As a young man, before becoming a soldier, he studied at a military academy. In 1939, after Japan had seized areas on the China coast, he became a spy for the Korean government and was sent then to Mongolia, China, India and Arabia, where he studied Lamaism, Taoism, Islam, Judaism, and classic Indian and Arabic medicine. Oki's task was to enter parts of southern Asia and cooperate with Islamic independence movements. As a cover for this, he went to Tibet to train as a lama. At that time this was a purely utilitarian move without religious significance.

His religious experience was later stimulated when he was arrested on an assignment in Iran and thrown in jail, with an iron ball and chain. He shared a cell with an older man who, although facing a death sentence, was always serene and peaceful. Oki himself was scared that he would be executed, so he became a pupil of the older man, learning from his chanting, meditation, and religious observances that brought him serenity. Later, both men were freed when a raiding party liberated the jail. Oki's first teacher turned out to be Hoseini-shi, father of the Ayatollah Khomeini, the former spiritual leader of Islam in Iran.

In 1951 he went to India to a place near the border with Pakistan, as Japan’s representative to UNESCO. There several different diagnoses confirmed that he had intestinal cancer. This made him realize that he had been wrong in doing yoga practice for the sake of his own personal enlightenment and salvation. He decided that from then on he would live a life devoted to others, aiming at the salvation of all beings. When he came back to Japan, he set up an organization to help young people to study and serve other people in many different parts of the world. From 1960 onwards he was invited to give lectures in many countries. During 1960 he worked as a researcher for a Japanese newspaper, traveling Europe and North America and lecturing on Zen to religious groups. In 1962 the Buddhist Society of America invited him to teach yoga. Oki also taught in Brazil before returning to Japan, where he founded the International Oki Yoga Institute in Mishima in 1967. He has since authored a number of books on healing. He established a yoga dojo at Mishima in Japan in 1967. It’s called “The Society For Searching Truth through Practice”. The essential characteristic of Oki-do Yoga is that it unifies many fields of human experience, and the teachings are understandable and practical in the modern way of life. It’s a way of searching for truth through daily life. In recognition in his pioneering work, Masahiro Oki was awarded the honorary degrees of Doctor of Medicine in Switzerland and Doctor of Philosophy in India. United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) officials employed him to work for peace in India and Pakistan, where he lectured, practiced medicine, and taught practical skills in housing and food production. He stayed at the ashram of Mahatma Gandhi in India and learned from him directly. Here the concept of yoga in relation to practical life matured Oki's experience and convinced him that yoga is the basis of all religions. From Mahatma Gandhi he learned that yoga practice led Buddha, Christ, and other saints to enlightenment. He holds 34 dans in various Japanese martial arts. M. Oki died in 1985. Nowadays the dojo at Mishima does not operate 365 days a year as when he was alive. There now other centers and dojos in Europe, America, Australia and Taiwan.
